Fellowship Committee 2011 Annual Report

There were several opportunities for fellowship in 2011 in which the committee participated by providing the venue and refreshments. These events included Cool Treats in July; Hot Dogs & Back-Pack Blessings in August; the 55th Anniversary Celebration with Brats on the Grill in September; and Fall Sweets and Pumpkin Treats in November. Interspersed were a post-funeral service reception, a ladies luncheon, and Pizza with the Pastor which, unfortunately although announced often and well in advance, drew but one non-member couple. As I recall, the four of us enjoyed great rapport and a memorable time.

The re-inauguration of the Men’s Breakfast had an inauspicious start with only three of us, including Pastor. We subsequently changed venues from Burger King on Macon Road to the one on Manchester Expressway across from the mall. At IHOP on Veteran’s Parkway, we had five. The Cracker Barrel saw our most successful Saturday drawing including friends of members.

Without the assistance of the many members of St. Matthew who volunteered with advice, suggestions, food, and clean-up could we have had such a successful succession of social occasions.

Respectfully submitted,

Duke Barron
